Tavus.io - video templating of the future
TLDR:
A personalized AI video generator, which allows you to address to a specific person by name, however it can automatically take a list of say 10 000 people and generate a video specific to each of those people.
Long Story:
Today I found this Y-Combinator startup that is building and training their own AI. What it does is pretty simple, let's say you have a newsletter like this one, but it's in a video format, now you want to address to each of your subscribers by name in particular. How do you make that happen? Normally you'd make the video, and then edit out where you call someone by name, and edit video by video to make it personalized. Obviously this is actually trouble some, nobody does this, for 10 000 people that'd take an enormous amount of time. Well this company aims to automate this with AI. They train their models on your personalized face and then all you do is just give it names, and it'll change a specific part of the content. And voila it's done - automagically.
Now this cool but the moment I saw this, the first thing that came to my mind was the Sci.Fi movie Minority Report, starring Tom Cruise, from 2002. I remember there was a scene in the movie where Tom Cruise was on the run, and there were massive screens all over the place, that ran extremely personalized ads, as in "Hey John Anderton, it looks like you could use a Guiness right now." and it freaked me out so much back then. I was like wtf this is sooooo cool, but soooo frightening.
And it seems that we are finally there 🥲
